SENER will take active part in SINAVAL-EUROFISHING from 21st to 23rd of April, a fair hold every two years in Bilbao. During the exhibition SENER will present the new enhancements in the shipbuilding CAD/CAM System FORAN, in all disciplines (Forms, Naval Architecture and General Arrangement, Hull Structure, Machinery and outfitting, Electrical Design and Drafting).
The Naval Architecture modules have been renovated in a single tool called FBASIC that incorporates new capabilities and interface working in conjunction with the General Arrangement solution, to improve the tasks during the early design stage: forms generation, compartment generation and naval architecture calculations.
A link with FEM tools is available in FORAN and incorporates new functionality, to ensure that a proper FORAN 3D model of structure is exported to run the calculations, while the Virtual Reality Solutions allow to navigate through the model in an impressive environment to review the model, simulate operations and to study ergonomics, both in one face simulators or caves with multiple ones.
SENER will present as well the different solutions to shipyards, ship-owners and design offices over the world: the design of any kind of vessel and offshore artefact, marine and offshore engineering and consultancy, supply of construction kit for ships, technical assistance, ship-owner surveyor and project review.
Finally, SENER is proud to celebrate this year the 50 anniversary of FORAN.
SENER is a private engineering and technology group founded in 1956, which seeks to offer its clients the most advanced technological solutions and which enjoys international recognition, thanks to its independence and its commitment to innovation and quality. SENER has more than 5,500 professionals at its centers in Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, Chile, China, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States, India, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Portugal and the UK. The group has an operating revenue of €1,218 billion (2013 figures).
SENER engages in the specific activities of Engineering and Construction, and also has industrial holdings in companies involved in Energy and Environment, as well as in Aeronautics. SENER’s Engineering and Construction division has become one of the world’s benchmark companies in the Aerospace, Infrastructures and Transport, Power and Process, and Marine sectors.
FORAN is a totally integrated computer system specifically developed for the design, production and engineering of ships. It comprises several main packages (hull forms definition, naval architecture, hull structure, outfitting, electrical), a number of common modules (build strategy, drafting, walk-through design review, collaborative engineering), links with production equipment (cutting machines, bending machines, robotic systems, etc.), interfaces to management systems and its own integrated development environment.
