Four top-level conferences

WMW congress program has made this an unmissable event. This year, more than 90 speakers of the highest level, both national and international, are taking part. The four congresses are linked to the naval sector at Sinaval, the fishing sector at Eurofishing, the port sector at Futureport, and the marine renewable energy sector at the Ocean Energy Conference.

Thus, the naval industry sector will meet, during the three days, around SINAVAL, the oldest event and the backbone of World Maritime Week, where topics such as Competitiveness and Resilience in the Maritime Industry and Digitalization in the sector on the Shipyard 4.0, the Digital Twin and Unmanned Vessels will be discussed during the first two days of the forum.

Fishing has had its forum today at EUROFISHING, whose main theme has revolved around Marine Spatial Planning (MSP), an essential tool for sustainable coexistence between traditional and emerging uses of marine space. Thus, it has brought together different actors who will participate by providing different points of view of the process. After these first presentations, the session ended with a round table where the participants discussed the opportunities and challenges they consider that marine spatial planning can generate. In addition, the Conference on Freezer Tuna Vessels has been organized by ANABAC-National Association of Owners of Freezer Tuna Vessels, and it has been attended by recognized figures, national and international level.

Regarding FUTUREPORT, the port congress to be held tomorrow, the theme will be oriented towards Digital Transformation and the so-called Green Ports. In addition, the program will be complemented with a transversal day, jointly with Sinaval, on Sustainability and Decarbonization. Finally, OCEAN ENERGY CONFERENCE will bring together on Thursday experts in Marine Renewable Energies, whose main axis of debate will revolve around Innovative Public Procurement as a support instrument for technological development. Subsequently, during the second part of Ocean Energy Conference, the session in which marine renewable energy projects for the diversification of the shipbuilding industry will be presented will take place. The Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Spanish naval ecosystem supports actions that favor the diversification of the naval sector’s activity towards marine renewable energies and low-emission ships, the digitalization of its value chain, the improvement of its sustainability and the training of its professionals.
