Over 5-7 October this year, Bilbao Exhibition Centre will become the benchmark meeting point for the international maritime sector, hosting WORLD MARITIME WEEK 2021. World Maritime Week provides a unique opportunity for leading top level sector representatives to discuss hot issues in their fields, around a series of conferences, networking events, shared areas and activities, including the exhibition area and the opening plenary session.
The shipbuilding industry will come together at SINAVAL, already in its 23rd year; fisheries has its own event at EUROFISHING; and FUTUREPORT will focus on state-of-the-art technology and other innovations for ports. New to the event this year are the first edition of the OCEAN ENERGY CONFERENCE, which will gather experts in wave energy and tidal energy, and the OIL & GAS CONFERENCE, to deal with all aspects of oil and gas, both up and downstream.
The working groups for the five conferences are presently engaged in designing a busy program of talks and activities dealing with cross-cutting relevant issues, including digital transformation and the transition to sustainability. Meanwhile, the B2B direct networking programme is expected to provide one of the most valuable spaces at the event, as in other years, fostering networking among sectors and direct contact with professionals.
Management consultancy firm Alium Consulting, which specialises in events of this nature, has been onboarded for this year’s edition. The list of high-profile attendants, defined together with exhibitors, features important national and international buyers from the sector’s leading businesses.
WORLD MARITIME WEEK is unique in Europe, at this third edition consolidating its position as a strategic networking event in order for the maritime sector to boost contacts and generate new opportunities, as well as a unique showcase for knowledge, technology and investment.
