Instructions for the preparation and the delivery of the posters to the IV Marine Energy Week Congress

General Issues

The poster session will be organized by the Joint Research Laboratory on Offshore Renewable Energy with the support of Euskampus Fundazioa.

The official languages of the Marine Energy Week Congress are Basque, Spanish and English. The poster can be produced in any of these three languages.

The authors must present their works during the poster session that will take place the 13 February 2019 from 2pm to 3:30pm during the lunch. The posters can be exhibited during all the days of the World Maritime Week from 12-14 February. They must be installed the day of the Marine Energy Week (13 February) at 10h at the latest, and they cannot be removed till the closure of the event.

The final acceptation requires that at least one of the authors is registered in the IV Marine Energy Week Congress. This registration must be made no later than the 31st January 2019 and gives access to the exhibition area of the World Maritime Week from 12th to 14th February and to the Offshore Energy conference the 13th February.

To be accepted, the posters must be aligned with the theme of the congress: Offshore Renewable Energy and have a scientific-technological profile with some type of contribution from the point of view of R&D. Posters with clear commercial content will not be accepted.


Printed posters should be in 1000 mm x 700 mm format.

The authors will be responsible for the printing and placement of the posters. The necessary material will be provided.

The participation in the poster session implies the express authorization by the authors of the use of this material on the Marine Energy Week conference’s and JRL-ORE’s online dissemination media (website and social media), as well as its public exhibition public in the event. For this purpose, the posters must be sent in pdf to [email protected] before 12 February.

Marine Energy Week shall not be held liable for the contents of the posters submitted by the authors, nor for their veracity and authorship.




All posters will be eligible for the JRL-ORE – Euskampus award for the best poster of the Marine Energy Week that will be granted once the event is over and will be published on the JRL-ORE website.

The criteria for selecting the best poster will be as follows:

  • Discussion of one of the main challenges facing offshore renewable energy
  • Partnership between different organisations or multi-discipline collaboration.
  • Scientific and technological excellence
  • Quality of the speaker’s communication
  • Aesthetic criteria

Sumary of deadlines

  • Deadline for abstract submission (in the facilitated format): 7 January, 2019
  • Communication of Acceptance: 21 January, 2019
  • Deadline for author registration at the event: 31 January, 2019
  • Deadline for submission of posters in pdf: 12 February, 2019
  • Deadline for positioning the posters by the authors in the Bilbao Exhibition Centre on 13 February, 2019 at 10 am (It can be done from February 12).
