BEC will host the 2nd edition of the World Maritime Week, the international maritime meeting

It will be held from 12th to 14th February 2019

From 12th to 14th February 2019, Bilbao Exhibition Centre will host the second edition of WORLD MARITIME WEEK, a maritime meeting of international reference for the port, naval, fishery and energy sectors. Following the success obtained in 2017, the event will maintain its specialisation in each field, using its own trademarks – FUTUREPORT, SINAVAL, EUROFISHING and MARINE ENERGY WEEK – with international conferences and networking programmes tailor-made for each of them, along with shared areas and activities, such as the exhibition area or the prize-giving ceremony, among others.

The interaction between sectors represents a great opportunity, so WORLD MARITIME WEEK will once more attract the leading actors of the maritime industry, who are interested in finding out about the latest technological breakthroughs and seeking new business opportunities in the so-called “blue economy”. In this context, the B2B programme for direct contact with other professionals will undoubtedly be one of the event’s most valued activities. Therefore, the agreement with Meet The Buyer, a company specialised in the management of this type of meeting, has been renewed.

With regards to conferences, prescribers and renowned experts from the maritime sector will offer a specialised global vision with different sessions on current issues. The ports, naval, renewable marine energy and fishery working groups have already held the first meeting to discuss the main themes of the conferences and to establish the profile of the most interesting prescribers for their speeches. The exhibition area will be located in the Luxua Hall, an area connected to the conference space. It will have a maximum capacity of around 100 firms, and turnkey stands will be made available to them.

Thanks to its combination of sectors and spaces, and its external projection, WORLD MARITIME WEEK is a unique forum in its field in Europe. In 2017, the event included the participation of a total of 112 exhibiting firms, including major shipyards, such as La Naval, Zamakona, Murueta, Balenciaga, Navantia, Armon, Gondan or Atlanticeagle Shipbuilding, over 100 speakers – 50% of which were international – and around 2000 professional visitors, who attended by invitation.
